It’s been some time since I had the chance to checkout some cool emulators on my PC. You see, I grew up playing many of the games that would be considered retro games today. The NES, TG16, and Sega Master System were three of my favorite consoles. I spend so much time in front a computer though at work, that I rarely have the opportunity to actually load up an emulator and play some of those good old games. However, on my Nintendo 3DS with my r4i 3ds I can get some quality retro game time in. It does take me a good 45 minutes to get to work on the bus, so this way, instead of being bored and watching power lines on the way to work, I can take out my Nintendo 3DS, load up NesDS and start playing some of my favorite 8-bit games.
Now, the 3DS on its own can’t play these games of course. You do need to get the r4i card in order for your console to be able to load up and play these homebrew games and applications. I call emulators applications, because while they do let you play games, they are actually just apps that let you load your actual classic games. The NES isn’t the only console that is emulated. There are a good number of other old console emulators available. All of them are free to download of course. You’ll just have to find the games to be able to load and play once you have the emulator up and running.
